RouteSprout is an innovative yet simple approach to group transportation. Through our website, anyone can suggest a trip, others can then join the trip, and when there is enough demand, a route will sprout!
Once a trip is confirmed, a modern charter bus with a professionally trained driver is assigned to the route. These buses are clean and comfortable, and often have additional features like restrooms, power outlets, and WiFi.
Passengers can join a trip as a group or one by one, and inviting others is easy through the social media features of RouteSprout.com. If you don’t see the trip you want, just suggest a new one and help spread the word.
The first person to suggest a trip gets to travel for just $1 if the trip is confirmed, which generally happens once half of the seats on a bus are reserved.
Suggesting or joining a trip is easy. All you need is a debit or credit card and access to RouteSprout.com. Cards will not be charged until a trip has been confirmed. If there is not enough demand to confirm a trip one week prior to the suggested departure day, passengers who have already made reservations will be sent alternative suggestions including joining another trip, car-pooling, or other transportation options.
RouteSprout is always interested in ways to innovate and improve. Please send us your questions and suggestions at info@RouteSprout.com.
Have you ever wished there were an easy way to get to a sporting event, concert, or weekend destination, without the hassle of driving and parking? You’re not the only one!
RouteSprout helps people travel better together. Through our website, anyone can suggest a trip, others can then join the trip, and when there is enough demand, a route will sprout!
What sets RouteSprout apart from other ride-matching sites is that our trips are provided by modern charter buses with professionally trained drivers. We will even provide links to safety records for the charter operator selected for each trip.
RouteSprout brings the perks of charter bus travel (WiFi, restrooms, and plenty of legroom) to more people than ever before. Passengers can join a trip as a group or one by one, making seats affordable and easy to book.
Finally, RouteSprout service is always direct, as opposed to other inter-city bus and rail services, which often require transfers and connections. Wherever demand sprouts up, RouteSprout can provide point-to-point group transportation.
Through RouteSprout, anyone can suggest a trip, but the trip will only happen if enough people join in. Whether you are the first to suggest a trip, or you are joining a trip that is already forming, RouteSprout makes it easy and worth-while to invite others.
As more people find out about RouteSprout, routes will sprout more quickly and the trip that you are interested in is more likely to be confirmed. If you are the first to suggest a trip, you will travel for just $1 if the trip attracts enough passengers to be confirmed.
So, use the links below to spread the word about RouteSprout, and help more people travel better together!

A route is a trip, and we use the two terms interchangeably. Sorry for the confusion, but TripSprout doesn't have the same ring to it.
A route will sprout once half of the available seats are reserved for a trip. The number of available seats is dependent on vehicle type. For trips of less than 100 miles, 27-passenger vehicles will be used whenever possible. This means that for short trips, a route will sprout once 14 reservations are made. For longer trips 55-passenger vehicles will most often be used, meaning 28 reservations will sprout a route. The number of reservations still needed to sprout a route will be displayed when making a reservation and will also be shown on the RouteSprout destination board.
At the moment, RouteSprout trips are limited to the United States and Canada. Passengers must have passports for trips crossing the US/Canada border. There are no distance requirements or restrictions on routes. Any route with sufficient passenger demand can sprout.
All RouteSprout trips are provided by private charter operators. RouteSprout only works with charter providers who are in good standing with the American Bus Association (ABA). In addition we check the safety records of our partners using the US Department of Transportation's Safety and Fitness Electronic Records System. This information can be made available to passengers upon request.
It varies. It mostly depends on how long the trip is, but it is also affected by other factors such as the price of fuel, the date and time of the trip, and our promotions. You must check each trip to see what its ticket price is.
No. All tickets must be purchased online at RouteSprout.com.
You will only be charged if the route sprouts. If a suggested route fails to attract enough reservations to sprout, nobody will be charged.
All of our tickets are e-tickets , so we’re not going to be snail mailing them to you. Please bring a printout of your ticket or show it to the bus driver on your mobile device’s screen. You will also need to bring photo ID that matches exactly the name on your ticket.
Until a route is confirmed (“sprouted”), you can cancel your reservation at any time no questions asked. Once the route sprouts, you will receive an e-mail with the final trip details (pick-up time, location, etc.). You will then have 24 hours to opt out of the trip before your reservation is charged to your debit or credit card. We cannot offer any refunds after the opt-out period. The only exception to this is if an extenuating circumstance such as extremely dangerous driving conditions prevents the trip from occurring, in which case we will issue a refund to all affected passengers.
A suggested route must attract enough reservations to sprout by one week (7 days) before the proposed departure date, or else the trip is canceled. Once a trip has been confirmed, tickets can be purchased up to one hour prior to departure, or until the bus is full.
When passengers reserve a seat on a suggested route, they are given the option to make their contact information available to others in the event that the route fails to sprout. When a route is canceled, RouteSprout will send an e-mail to affected passengers with contact information of potential ride-share partners, who are then encouraged to organize themselves into carpools. There is no charge for this ride-matching service, but carpool drivers may request for passengers to chip in for gas, tolls, or other expenses.
Anyone can suggest a trip on RouteSprout.com. Passengers must be at least 18 years of age, or accompanied by an adult. No animals are permitted on RouteSprout trips other than service animals.
Most buses can accommodate at least one wheelchair and provisions can be made for other special needs. However, we request an passengers requiring special accommodations inform us in advance at email@example.com so that we may ensure that the bus dispatched for the trip has all necessary amenities.
This is handled on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the bus company that has been assigned to your trip to find out if there will be enough space to stow them.
